Barnyard Millet Halwa (Indian dessert)

Ingredients
1 cup barnyard millet
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
10-15 raisins
2 tbsp ghee
2-3 cloves
1 cup milk
1 cup water
dry fruits for garnish

Method
Procedure to prepare Barnyard millet for Halwa

  1. Wash and soak 1 cup of barnyard millet for 6 hours.
  2. Drain the water and dry in a shade for 3-4 hours.
  3. Roast lightly and grind coarsely.

Procedure to make the halwa.

  1. Take a deep pan and put ghee in it.
  2. Add 2-3 cloves then add the prepared barnyard millet
  3. Roast till brown in color.
  4. Then add milk, raisins, and water. Mix well.
  5. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Serve hot garnished with dry fruits.
